[FIRST NAME GOES HERE], you don’t need another task—just this reminder

Hey Reader,

“In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and trust shall be your strength.”

—Isaiah 30:15

Last weekend reminded me of something sacred. Something I pray you’ll experience too.

Last weekend reminded me of something sacred—something I pray you’ll experience too.

I had the honor of hosting the Prayer-Filled Retreat, and as I watched women pause, breathe, and simply be with God, I saw something powerful begin to unfold:

He filled them.

Not because they had it all together. Not because they came with long prayers or perfect plans.
But simply because they said yes to the invitation to pause.

And it reminded me:
We miss these moments all the time.
Moments when God is gently saying, “Come away with Me.”
Moments when He’s offering rest, but we’re too busy to receive it.

Most Saturdays, I sleep in.
What used to be “Sleep-in Saturday” is now something more sacred—my Sabbath.

From Friday at sunset to Saturday at sunset, I rest. Deeply.
I sleep as long as I can, open my Bible and read without a clock, nap in the afternoon, maybe watch a faith-filled documentary, and slowly let my soul reset.

These aren’t just moments of comfort.
They’re moments of restoration.
They’re where God reminds me who I am and who He is.

This weekend, I want to invite you into that same space.

Pause.
Be still.
Let God fill you in ways your busy life can’t.

If you’re not sure where to begin, here are two simple options:

  • Choose one of my Companion Study Guides and explore a book of the Bible at your own pace. Each one includes a matching YouTube teaching to guide you.
  • Watch this week’s YouTube teaching: The One Bible Tool You Need where I walk you through one simple but powerful tool that I use during my Bible reading time to eliminate distraction and increase understanding.

Reader, your soul was made to pause. To rest. To be restored.

Let this be your invitation to experience it—not just once a year, but this weekend.

With you in the pause,

Rachel

Hey Reader, November is National Bible Month and I want to invite you into something special—a journey not just through Scripture, but through the storyline of redemption itself. It’s a YouVersion Bible plan I created that will be available on November 1st called Threads. Threads is a 30-day Bible plan that gently and powerfully shows how the entire Bible weaves together God’s promises from Genesis to Revelation. Reader, I know what it’s like to feel like one more commitment could tip the...

Hey Reader, October might just be my favorite month. The leaves are changing, fall flavors are everywhere, and it’s full of cozy vibes. But for me, it’s extra special because it holds two of my favorite dates: my anniversary and my birthday. This week, Willie and I celebrate 14 years of marriage. Yes, fourteen. That’s more than a decade of love, laughter, tears, apologies, inside jokes, “What do you want for dinner?” debates, and learning that somehow socks still don’t walk themselves to the...

Hey Reader, “He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul.” —Psalm 23:2–3 He restores my soul. Words from scripture that I’ve quoted since I was a little girl in Sunday school. Words that I've learned are so true, real, and powerful. But now, as an adult, I read them with fresh eyes. I realize that the Lord created me to be restored. Not just held together, not just surviving—but brought back to wholeness. However, that kind of restoration...
