Hey Reader, As we step into this new year and many of us are diving into Bible in a Year plans, I want to pause and shift our perspective together. This isn’t about the checklist. It’s not another “have to do” added to our already overwhelming list of obligations. This is a “get to do.” We get to read the Word of God. We get to hear His voice speak into our lives. We get to encounter the living and active truth that transforms us from the inside out. But here’s the thing—it requires intentionality. It requires us to actually set time aside and say yes to what matters most. So this weekend, I want to challenge you: Press in. Read the Word. Listen to it. Speak it out loud. Let it wash over you, refresh you, and reorient your heart toward what’s true. This is your time to refocus, recalibrate, and remember why you started this journey in the first place. If you need some encouragement or a fresh perspective on approaching God’s Word this year, I recently shared some thoughts in this video that I think will really speak to you. Check it out when you have a moment. Let’s make this weekend count. With You In His Word, P.S. I’m thinking about offering my 6‑session writers cohort again — a course designed for current or aspiring faith‑based authors and devotional writers who want to grow in skill, message, and impact. If this resonates with you and you want more details, you can sign up for the interest list HERE. You’ll learn things like: building your brand, understanding publishing pathways, strategies for growing your audience, pitching to agents, and more — all with community and mentorship. Not sure yet? Just read through the description and only sign up for the waitlist if your heart says yes. We would begin February 9th. |

Hey Reader, These Weekend in the Word emails have quietly become some of my favorites to send. There’s something about intentionally preparing to pause. To sit with Jesus. To slow the swirl of the week and let the Word settle in. It helps me enter the weekend with purpose, and I pray it’s doing the same for you. This weekend, I’m looking forward to wrapping up the book of Job. It’s a book I’ve read many times, but this time, the Lord has been showing me something deeper—not just about Job’s...
Hey Reader, There are moments in Scripture that invite us to slow down and pay attention, not to the miracle itself, but to the obedience that made room for it. That’s why I’m inviting you into this 3-week devotional journey, Do Whatever He Says. This journey is an invitation to move from observing what God is doing to actively responding to what He is saying. To release the pressure of making things happen and instead trust that obedience creates space for God to work. As we begin Week One,...
Hey Reader, What an incredible journey these past 7 days have been! Before anything else, I want to say how honored and humbled I am to have walked through this fast with you. You made the intentional decision to show up, to stay committed, and to follow through, and that matters. Choosing intimacy and worship in the midst of everyday life is no small thing, and God honors the obedience and surrender it took to say “yes” to this journey. As we conclude our Intimacy & Worship Fast and...
